Top of body rounded, abdomen flat and width of body greater than depth; head depressed; snout blunt; mouth large and slightly arch; lips thick, fleshy and with welldeveloped fold at joint of upper and lower lips; rostral groove situated in front of mouth, rostral fold divided into 3 lobes, rostral barbells 2 pairs among lobes and maxillary one 1 pair; eyes small, interorbital space very wide and slightly convex; gill openings comparatively narrow and not reaching belly of head; lateral line scales 70—79. Dorsal fin short and origin slightly nearer to base of caudal fin; origin of pectoral fin situated behind eyes, pelvic fin not united and caudal fin concave. Body color brownish yellow on back, grayish yellow on belly, top of head dark brown and with one black spot on booth sides, dard streaks not obvious but with horizontal stripes along lateral line

The fish live in small mountain streams with fountains and often dwell and crawl on rocks at bottom of water. They are tiny fish and live on the algae growing on rocks
